The Positive Herd Project CIC
Community Interest Company number 12613082
The Positive Herd Project was originally set up to provide a small herd of rescue horses with a permanent, more natural way of life.
It is now a pioneering non-profit organisation dedicated to improving standards of equine welfare across Cheshire while providing a host of benefits to the lives of children, young people, and adults experiencing multiple disadvantages. We provide innovative opportunities for people to spend time outside interacting with and learning about our rescue horses in a safe, positive and engaging environment
In all areas of horse care, handling, training and riding we adhere to a strict ethical code. The horses live as naturally as possible and all training is done with gentle, non-coercive methods that avoid the use of pain, fear or force. Our sanctuary herds act as an educational model of equine management, helping to teach people and improve equine welfare overall.

Our Aims
Provide SanctuaryWe provide a permanent home to many horses that are too complex to re-home. These horses live happily with their friends and act as a model of good management in keeping with their natural needs.
Promote Positive TechniquesWith classes and lessons we aim to educate the public in ethical horse training and management. We help horse owners who are experiencing challenging behaviour through training and behaviour consultations.
|
Rescue, Rehabilitate and RehomeWe help horses suffering distress, neglect or maltreatment, especially those with complex behavioural issues. Using kind methods they are rehabilitated and placed with understanding homes.
Therapeutic InteractionsWe create opportunities for people to spend time with and benefit from being around the horses, so that horses and people can heal, grow and learn together in an environment that is positive, force-free and non-judgemental.
