Promoting Positive Methods
The Positive Herd Project supports people to learn about more kind and effective methods of interacting with horses.
Traditionally training and handling relies on motivating behaviour through discomfort, fear or pain. By applying behavioural science and positive training techniques, behaviour is able to be managed ethically. This approach addresses the cause of the problem rather than suppressing the symptoms.

Workshops, Classes and OutreachIf you are struggling with the behaviour of your horse then we can help you identify and resolve the issue. Our team includes an equine behaviourist and riding instructor. Together we're able to asses your horse and develop a behaviour modification plan specific to your horse.
Behavioural consultations will require veterinary referral. Please get in touch for more details. |
Students
If you do not have your own horse but would still like to learn about equine welfare, management and positive training then you may be able to become a working student. As a student of The Positive Herd Project you'll get both hands on and classroom based learning, covering equine behaviour, care, handling, training and problem solving. Under supervision you'll also get the opportunity to work with some of our horses.
